Meet the new Belter 16 Auto
The Belter 16 Auto features a lightweight aluminium frame with updated geometry for greater stability and agile handling. The low-maintenance 8mm belt drivetrain pairs with a Sturmey Archer 2-speed automatic rear hub, delivering smooth, gear-free shifting that adapts to the rider's pace. Sliding dropouts, sealed bearing 14" wheels, and Schwalbe Billy Bonkers 2.0" tires ensure a durable, confident ride. Reduced-diameter grips and kid-optimized gearing make this the ideal next step for young urban riders.
Geometry to get kids moving
Geometry is at the heart of safety, fun, and progress. Even exploring the local neighbourhood demands a progressive, capable geometry if we want our kids to safely develop proper riding skills.
Just like all of our Belter series, the 16 features short stays so that kids have the manoeuvrability to navigate tight spaces. A relaxed head angle keeps them in control when they bump those curbs and a handlebar high enough for comfort, but low enough to optimise pedal efficiency - so crucial for riding up hills.
Light weight aluminium frame, beautifully crafted to last
We use 6061-grade aluminium in our bikes. It's a fantastic material. Strong yet light, weatherproof and super robust.
It’s also a responsive material transferring more power from the pedals to the wheels. In real terms, this means it’s easier to pedal further for longer.
The benefit is a bike that literally goes the distance.
A no rust, no fuss carbon drive train
The reliable belt drive is just a brilliant piece of kit. It replaces the traditional steel chain and cassette with a robust, stretch resistant and best of all completely grease-free drivetrain.
It’s easy to clean, requires almost no maintenance and is good for 20’000km.
Paired with a top-tier Sturmey Archer Automatic 2 speed hub and aluminium sprockets, you get peak performance from a bike that’s always ready to ride.
The Gold Standard for Gearing
The Belter 20 integrates a wide range 2 speed automatic geared hub into our legendary belt drive to produce the ultimate urban explorer.
So whether it’s sailing up hills or riding in the rain you can trust these impressively light, and incredibly durable gears to perform.
It’s combination like this that won the Belter, the only kids bike, ever to win the bike industry's most coveted prize, the Eurobike Gold Award.
Tyres that keep you on track
The Belter 14 runs 2.0”, fast rolling Schwalbe Billy Bonkers tyres as standard, so that learning is easier and safer.
Smooth running on the flats, more grippy in wet and more stable over bumps. Now you don’t have to worry if you get caught out by the weather or if you venture off the path.
And with more air there is more cushioning, so that riding won’t just be safer and more adventurous, it’ll be more enjoyable too.
Touchpoints that elevate control
Every one of The Belter’s touchpoints, be that the bars, saddle, pedals or grips has been anatomically designed to properly fit and function for super small riders.
Reduced diameter gripping area on the bars gives improved grip and control inspiring the rider with more confidence.
Little levers, big stopping power
The Belter 16 features powerful, age specific Tektro V brakes with ultra short reach levers and light-pull actuation, making braking easy even for the smallest hands. Braking feedback is smooth and responsive, helping new riders learn what smooth stopping feels like, right from the start.
The all-aluminium lever construction ensures the brakes aren’t at risk should the bike be dropped to the ground.
