Bike Servicing FAQs

How often should I service my bike?

We recommend servicing your bike at least once a year, or twice if you do a lot of miles! If you ride regularly in wet or muddy conditions, more frequent servicing will help keep your bike running smoothly and prevent costly repairs.

Do you service all bike brands?

Yes! Our workshop services all major bike brands, whether the bike was purchased from Skyline Cycles or elsewhere.

Do you service e-bikes?

Yes. We service most major e-bike brands and can carry out routine maintenance, safety checks, drivetrain servicing and component replacements.

Will I get my bike back on the same day it’s booked in for?

Most standard services are completed on the same day, although turnaround times can be longer if we need to order specialist parts for your bike. Contact us for current workshop availability.

Can I book my bike service in advance?

Yes. You can contact the shop directly to arrange a service booking and discuss any issues you're experiencing with your bike. Give us a call or an email!

Do I need to book a repair?

For most repairs, it's best to get in touch before visiting so we can advise on workshop availability and parts requirements.

Can you repair punctures while I wait?

We will try and get all on the spot repairs done as soon as possible, providing we have the right parts, feel free to sit next door and enjoy a coffee while you wait.

Can you source replacement parts?

Yes. We have accounts with leading UK suppliers and can source a wide range of parts and accessories, often within a few days.

 


 

E-Bike FAQs

Are e-bikes suitable for beginners?

Of course, E-bikes are a great way to get into cycling, helping everyone climb hills and cover longer distances with less effort.

How far can an e-bike travel on one charge?

Range varies depending on the battery size, terrain, rider weight and assistance level. Most modern e-bikes will cover between 30 and 60 miles on a full charge.

Can I test ride an e-bike before buying?

Yes. We encourage customers to try an e-bike before making a purchase to ensure they find the right model for their riding style.

How long does it take to charge an e-bike?

Most e-bike batteries take between 4 and 6 hours to fully charge. 

Do e-bikes need servicing?

Yes. Regular servicing helps ensure both the mechanical and electrical systems continue to perform safely and reliably.

We recommend booking in advance, especially during weekends, holidays and good weather periods.

We offer a range of bikes including e-bikes, gravel, and mountain bikes suitable for local riding and exploring the Deeside Way.

Can I hire a bike for just a few hours?

Yes. We offer flexible hire options depending on availability.


Is the Deeside Way suitable for beginners?

Yes. Much of the Deeside Way is traffic-free and suitable for riders of all abilities.

Do helmets come with bike hire?

Yes. Helmets are available with all bike hires.

Is the Deeside Way suitable for e-bikes?

Skyline Cycles has a large customer car park, making it easy to start your ride from the shop.
